Fixed 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 With 5-1/2 Foot Bed
Question:
We are planning to purchase a Grand Design Reflection 150 Series 290BH. The camper is equipped with the Turning Point Swivel Pin Box. Our tow vehicle is a 2019 Chevy Silverado Shortbed with the max tow package. What is the correct fifth wheel hitch for this application? The manufacturer says that we do not need a slide hitch. Thank you

Since your Grand Design Reflection 150 Series 290BH has the Turning Point pin box, which is similar to the Reese Sidewinder, the manufacturer is correct that you do not need a sliding 5th wheel hitch, just a fixed hitch that is compatible with a rotating pin box.
And for that use the fixed Reese M5 5th Wheel Hitch # RP30928.
To install the hitch you will simply need to add base rails to your Chevy, and the best option is a custom kit that does not involve drilling into your frame rails, the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit with Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP56015-53.
The only other thing you will need is a 5th wheel wiring harness, and the correct one for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the Demco 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # DM8555002.
