Recommended Wiring Harness for 2020 Hyundai Palisade

Question:

Hello. you guys are great by the way!. I have a 2020 Palisades. Just bought from you guys the Curt hitch. My question: Today i want to be able to tow a trailer for trash, i think that has just brake light requirements so a 4-flat is fine. I am thinking the T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # CU94FR. But soon I want to be able to tow a 17-ft camping trailer with brake controller. So, does the wiring harness needed for the camping trailer plug into the 4-flat, or do i need to start off by getting the proper 7-pin harness?

You don't need to start with a 7 way, and the Curt T-Connector will provide you with the base of what is needed to eventually tow a trailer with brakes. Once you've got that, you'll be able to add a 7 way fairly easily.

To install the 7 way, you'll need to use something like the # ETBC7 (for wired brake controllers) or # ETBC7L (for wireless brake controllers) and you'd have a 7 way connector. These will plug into the T-Connector # CU94FR, and after completing the connection to the battery, ground and reverse light circuit, you'll have a fully functioning 7 way; if you use the # ETBC7 you'll also need to run a wire to the brake controller inside the vehicle.

For the brake controller, I recommend going wireless with the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 since it's the easiest to install and can be controlled by your smartphone (iOS 8.0 or newer/Android 4.4 or newer). If you wanted a wired brake controller it would need to be hard wired into the vehicle, but the Tekonsha P3 # 90195 is one of our most popular and well rated wired brake controllers.

I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at, as well.
