Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer with Unloaded Tongue Weight of 709 lbs
Question:
Hi, I am looking to buy a new travel trailer Likely a Flagstaff 25BRDS with a GVWR of 6869. The specs of the trailer state that it has a tongue weight of 709 lbs. I was looking at Items # C17501 and Item # C17499. However, read on your site that If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.inch My question is with the TW trailer spec at 709 lbs, I assume that is unloaded and once I load my trailer, that number will increase. It seems that the specs for my trailer are at the top end of what Item # C17499 can handle. Would you recommend either of these or is there another one from your site that may work better for me? My tow vehicle is a 2019 F150. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again,

The best solution for a weight distribution system will be one with a better range to fit what your trailer would have. For that I would recommend the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 which has as tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs which will work great for you but also because it has the best and only sway control out there that will work to fight sway before it starts.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
