Are Diodes Necessary When Wiring 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid for Flat Towing
Question:
My mechanic insists no diodes are needed to connect lights on the escape to the motorhome. Says there will be no feedback to the cars electrical system. please advise.

Expert Reply:
Roadmaster recommends using a diode kit, and because the folks at Roadmaster are the smartest people in the room when it comes to flat towing, I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt and would highly recommend going with the # RM-15267 diode kit.
In addition to the diode kit, you'll need a tow bar, base plates, safety cables, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high/low adapter.
