Replacement Trailer Tire for a 3,000 Pound 2001 Pop-Up Camper with ST185/80-13 Tires  

Question:

I HAVE A 2001 POP UP CAMPER THAT HAS 185 80 13 TIRES ON IT LOAD RANGE C THE DRY WEIGHT OF MY CAMPER IS 2,550 AND THE MAX IS 3,000 I WANT TO BUY NEW TIRES AND WHEELS AND THINK I NEED LOAD RANGE D BUT I CAN ONLY FIND THEM IN BIAS AND REALLY WANTED RADIALS CAN YOU HELP. ALSO I BOUGHT THIS CAMPER USED AND DO NOT BELEIVE THESE ARE THE CORRECT TIRES.

First, for the correct tire size, if there is any literature like an owners manual, the proper size could be listed in it. There should also be a sticker or plate that is on the trailer frame or tongue that might have that information as well. You can use any size you want as long as it fits and has a high enough capacity for the axle rating.

For an ST185/80-13 we do only carry bias ply tires. For a radial you can go with a slightly smaller tire, ST175/80-13, which will be about 1/2 inch more narrow and about 0.3 inches shorter. In a load range D we have # AM10210.

If you also need wheels I will need to know the bolt pattern of your existing wheels. I have included a link to an FAQ article that shows how to measure for bolt pattern.
