Wiring a Trailer Brake Controller to the Factory Harness on a 2012 Toyota Tundra

I have your 90160 brake controller and wiring plug. I also have the trailer brake controller plug supplied by Toyota for my pre-wired Tundra. The question I have is your harness has 4 wires and the Toyota factory harness has 5 wires. The extra one is for Headlamp switch to vehicle to? HELP what do I do with it?

The extra wire that is on the factory harness is not used by the brake controller. You can tape it up and stow it out of the way. On the brake controller and its wiring harness, the wire colors and functions are as follows:

White = ground
Black = 12 volt power
Blue = output to trailer brakes
Red = input from brake switch
