Adding 7 Inch Electric Trailer Brakes to Trailer With Idler Hubs

Question:

I have a trailer with 4 lug rims at 12inch it has 500# independent axles with 1inch straight shaft for barrings. I am looking for the smallest 4 lug electric brake setup I can buy. What do you have for a 1inch straight axle spindle?

If your existing hubs use a L44649 bearing with an ID of 1.063, we have a solution for you. You'll want to measure the ID of your existing bearings to confirm. A digital caliper like # PTW80157 is an easy way to get an accurate measurement of your bearing's inner diameter.

If your existing hubs use the L44649 bearings, you can use the Dexter # 8-173-16UC3 which is compatible with a standard spindle or # 8-173-16UC3-EZ compatible with an EZ lube spindle.

For a brake assembly, use # 23-47 and # 23-48.

We don't offer any hub/drums compatible with the L44643 bearing.

I've linked to a help article that explains what all is needed to add electric brakes to your trailer.
