Trailer Hitch, Wiring and Ball Mount Recommendation for 2019 Ford Escape

Hi. I am purchasing a pop up trailer and need a hitch and ball to attach to my vehicle. I have a 2019 white Ford Escape. There are so many options and I know nothing about cars/trailers and am wondering what items work best together for my need. Also, do pop ups need to have electrical connections For break lights? If so, do I need to buy something else for that? Thanks for your help

We have everything you'll need to tow your pop up with your 2019 Ford Escape. You need a hitch like the Class III # e98866 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, has plenty of towing capacity, and is mostly hidden as well. You will need trailer wiring as well to activate the blinkers, turn signals, and running lights of your vehicle as well which we offer that as # 118802. I attached install videos for both of these on similar Ford Escapes.

Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.

There won't be an issue installing a hitch and wiring on your 2017 Ford Escape Titanium. As long as the trailer does not exceed the capacity of the hitch or your vehicle you will be fine. For a hitch I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch…

The hands-free liftgate of your 2014 Ford Escape will still function with the etrailer.com hitch part #E98866 installed. You will have to kick your foot to either side of the hitch opening though.
