Which Brake Assemblies to Replace Rockwell 4074L and 4074R

Question:

We have a late 1990s WandW horse trailer with two axles and four brakes. After talking with WandW they advised that the brakes installed from the Factory were Rockwell 4704L and 4704R. Do you sell a product that could be used in place of those original parts? Regards

Expert Reply:

The Rockwell 4704L and 4704R are standard 12x2 electric brake assemblies. I'd recommend using
# AKEBRK-6L for the left and # AKEBRK-6R for the right. Install hardware is available separately as
# BRKH12S.

When you get the hub/drum pulled off, be sure to inspect the inside armature surface of the drum that the brake magnet rides against. If it's pitted or grooved, you'll want to replace the brake drums as well. For a 6-bolt, use # 42866UC3-EZ or # 8-201-9UC3-EZ for an 8-bolt. The hub/drums include the bearings, races, grease seal, lug nuts and dust cap.
