The Hitch Extender For 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver 14" Long part # HE12 as with any hitch extender will reduce the towing weight capacity of the vehicle. The amount at which the weight capacity is reduced will be 1/3 of the capacity or 3,500 lbs, whichever is lower. For example, if the vehicle is rated to tow 5,000 lbs then the new towing weigh capacity while using the extender is around 1,666 lbs. In regards to tongue weight which is the downward force on the receiver tube, this will be reduced in the same fashion so 1/3 of the capacity or 350 lbs.
In regards to the figures about using a weight distribution system this most likely won't apply unless you have one like the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System part # RP66560 for example.
I have attached a full list of options below but if you can provide the year, make, and model of the vehicle I may have a better option that won't reduce the capacity too much.
