Replacing Parallax 7355 Converter in 2004 Dutchman Travel Trailer
Question:
Good morning! My daughter purchased a 04 dutchman camper to put on my property for the time being. Long story short, it got plugged into one of my 220 outlets on my shop and the parallax 7355 went up in smoke! This is all new to me and I need some help on purchasing the right replacement part/parts. I tried plugging in the refrigerator straight to a power source and seems that it might have dried that as well unfortunately. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Bummer! I can help you out. The 220 will fry the circuit breakers and the power converter. Camping trailers are made for 120V power at either 50 amps or 30 amps and have an integrated converter to 12v power for certain components like lights so that they can be utilized in a camping area where there isn't 120v power available.
If just the parallax 7355 needs replaced, then the Replacement Converter for Parallax/Magnetek or WFCO RV Power Centers - 55 Amp # PD4655V is a direct replacement. The Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 60 Amp # PD4060K is also a direct replacement option that gives you the trim housing as well.
Refrigerators often run on 12v power, but there are 120v options as well. If it runs off 12v and the converter is fried, that likely is the issue. If it runs off 120v which is what it sounds like when you say you plugged it straight into a power source then the surge may have impacted the unit. You can check all wall outlet units with a standard house outlet and extension cord.
If the surge impacted components directly, then the circuit breakers are likely all fried and you'll need to replace them as well.
