Can BikeBase Trailer Tongue Adapter for BikeWing Carrier Work on Ball Mount
Question:
Hello.. working on installing a bike rack on/with my popup attached. Is it possible to attach the BikeBase Trailer Tongue Adapter for BikeWing Carrier directly to the shaft of a ball mount if an extended length was used? It says it will fit a 2 in trailer tongue soooo... Thinking similar to the Curt multi-purpose ball mount with receiver. Thanks

You actually already mentioned the better option in your question, because I do not recommend using the BikeBase Trailer Tongue Adapter for BikeWing Carrier # LC731157 with the BikeWing 2 Bike Carrier for BikeBase or Bump-It Mounting Adapter # LC731137 on an extended length ball mount. The issue is that it is meant to fit 2" to 4" trailer tongues and I can't guarantee that this is going to be secure enough around a ball mount that fits in a 2" receiver.
Instead, if you have the necessary room, the better option may be the Bump-It Hitch Receiver Adapter for Jack-It 2 Bike Rack # LC723359 with the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210.
This is a full 17" from the end of hitch receiver to the bike rack so you would need a lot of room, which I realize you may not have. Otherwise, you would need to add a hitch to your trailer like the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703 or Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100.
