Does the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller Drain Battery When Not in Use?
Question:
Just installed Tekesha Primus using the pre-wired Jeep harness....was easy, thanks After hook-up got no trailer connected symbols then the two dots. I finished and went inside. Is it draining my battery now? Is there an OFF switch that I missed? Thanks, Rob Willis

Part # TK90160 should go into a sleep mode after about 15 to 20 minutes of no activity in the vehicle. This sleep mode can be interrupted by unlocking and opening the doors So it's pretty hard to notice. This keeps the battery from draining. There are two small led lights that can drain the battery over long periods, but it won't drain the battery unless the vehicle sits for long periods of time.
You can unplug it when it is not in use for piece of mind, but there isn't an actual off switch to turn off the controller. unplugging the controller will reset your presets, so that is one thing to keep in mind.
