Can ThermaHeat RV Pads be Run Off of 12V Power - EMAILED LASALLE BRISTOL

Question:

Thanks Jon for clearing that up for me. Another question, what is the max temperature these pads heat up to? Particularly Item #277-000162. Do they cut off heat once the max temperature is reached? Thanks,

Both ThermaHeat RV Pads # 277-000161 and # 277-000162 that you referenced are designed for 12V systems so they will work if you're just using the house battery bank on your rig. Since the optimal voltage from a 12V system is around the 13.5 mark that's why the specs list it as that.

The ThermaHeat RV Pads # 277-000161 and # 277-000162 don't have a specific heat that they will warm up to, but you can either connect them to a thermostat or a switch like part # PK34310 to turn them on and off. If you wanted something that does have the thermostat then you'll need the heating pad # 277-000164 (which goes up to 67 degrees Fahrenheit before switching off) but this is a bit bigger and is designed for holding tanks. I reached out to my contact at LaSalle Bristol who confirmed all of this and also said that you shouldn't have the pads running continuously. They won't hurt the pop but the smaller pads will burn out if left on all the time.
