Can Holding Heat Tank Pads and Elbow Heat Pads Run on Different Switch

Question:

Hello, I was doing some research and wanted to touch base with you guys before purchase. I want to add some heat pads to my tanks grey, black, and fresh water along with elbow heat pads to the grey and black tank. From my understanding, the tank pads run on a thermostat and the elbows do not. I was therefore wondering if it would be safe and wise to put the grey and black tank on one switch, the two elbows on another and then the fresh water on the third switch. If I do that, can I run all the lines back to the converter in the same spot? Thank you!

Expert Reply:

Yes, since the holding tank pads operate on a thermostat and turn on automatically, a different switch makes sense with the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad with Thermostat # 277-000164 and Elbow Heating Pad # 277-000161.

For the switch I recommend the Universal-Design Rocker Switch # PK34310.
