Is Truck Brake Controller Wire Needed With Curt Echo Brake Controller on Truck With Air Brakes
Question:
The Curt Echo brake controller requires a constant 12v. My trailer has a 12 V battery wired into the 12V slot on the 7 way connector. Can the echos 12V be supplied from there or does it have to come from the truck side of the connector.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The blue brake wire that is normally required to connect to a 7-way for use with a brake controller is not needed for use with the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
The only thing the Echo needs are the 12 volt, ground, and turn signals connected to the 7-way. Additionally, this controller is absolutely compatible with your diesel pusher that uses air brakes as well so it is really the best option for a brake controller for your set up.
I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180.
