Accomplishing Initial Adjustment of Nev-R-Adjust Brake Assemblies
Question:
The star adjustment on the nev r adjustable brake assembly can not be reached from the rear access openings due to the adjustment bracket which readjusts the star is in the way to perform an initial adjustment after install. Will my brakes adjust themselves with use and how long can I expect them to take ?

Getting the Nev-r-adjust assembly initially set can be a bit challenging.
I would recommend bolting the assembly in place and rotating the adjuster from the front before installing the hub. You can keep moving the shoes outward, until you can barely slip the drum into place. This will get you pretty close to the initial adjustment needed. If you need to make an additional fine adjustment one way or the other, you can force your brake adjustment tool in from behind the assembly past the adjustment bracket enough to adjust a click or so at a time.
After the initial adjustment, the brakes will continually keep themselves adjusted, beginning immediately.
