We have exactly what you will need and a video to show you exactly how to do it!!
You want to start by adding a 4-way trailer connector using the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55329 this can easily be ran up behind each tail light and gives you the starting point to add your 7-way to using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. This gives you a 7-way and a 4-way so it is very adaptable. The kit also includes the wiring to run to the front of the truck for the 12 Volt power coming to the 7 way as well as the brake power wire. After that you are ready to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885.
This is a very straight forward installation with few challenges. Check out the video Joe did years ago on a similar 2001 Dodge Ram.
