The # 39523 Tekonsha PowerTrac and the # 3050-P brake control wiring adapter will indeed work just fine on your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder.

Might I make a suggestion? The PowerTrac is an entry-level, time-delayed type controller. A time delayed controller will always send the same amount of power that you've preset to the trailer brakes, no matter if you've just made a quick jab at the brake pedal or if you're executing Two Foot On The Pedal Through The Floor Panic Stop. A proportional controller, such as the # 90885 Prodigy P2 brake controller you'd looked at contains an internal accelerometer that can instantly determine at what intensity the vehicle brakes are being applied, at which time the controller will deliver the proper amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so the trailer and vehicle stop at the same rate. The result? Safer and more predictable braking.

If you'd possibly be interested in a proportional controller that's more reasonably priced than the Prodigy P2, I'd recommend the Brake EVN # TK63VR . Unlike the PowerTrac, the Brake EVN provides a digital display that will display error codes the level of power 1-10 being delivered to the trailer brakes. The PowerTrac only features a single color-changing LED that indicates the brake controller status. Nowhere near as user-friendly.

I've linked you to product description videos that feature both the PowerTrac and the Brake EVN brake controller.
