Ball Mount for Towing Yamaha Waverunner With 2012 GMC Acadia
Question:
I am looking for a ball mount for my 2012 GMC Acadia Denali. I am planning to tow a 2020 Yamaha Waverunner Model FX HO Cruiser Triton trailer. The dealer said I need a 2 inch ball I want a mount that can tow more weight than I need to be safe rather than sorry

Your Waverunner and trailer should weigh in at around 1200 lbs at a maximum, so the # 3371803307 Buyer's Products 6K capacity ball mount you referenced should have plenty of capacity for your needs. In order to safely tow, you'll need to go with a ball mount that will tow the trailer as level as possible. When we installed a hitch on a GMC Acadia of the same generation as yours, we found that the hitch receiver sits at about 19-1/2 inches above the ground. The # 3371803307 ball mount offers a 2 inch drop which would place the ball height at 17-1/2 which is pretty close to where it needs to be. You can check by jacking up the trailer until the frame is level with the ground. Then measure from the bottom of the coupler to the ground. If the height is within an inch and a half of 17-1/2 inches, you'll be perfect!
If you need a ball mount with more or less drop, I've linked to some other alternatives, all of which will have plenty of capacity to handle your new PWC.
