How Does Cushioning of Gen-Y Torsion Weight Distribution Shank Work with Spring Bar Tension
Question:
Looking at a set up that includes the Gen-y together with an Equalizer WD, seems odd to me. How does the force from the Equalizer transfer through the Gen-y torsion system without bottoming out the torsion play. I hope Im expressing this right. I cant see how the fulcrum, or is it cantilever force from the Equalizer can get to the front tires without eliminating any shock absorption from the moving parts in the Gen-y. Thanks, Im buying a HD Denali and an Airstream Flying Cloud in a few days, and Im looking at this as a potential arrangement. Its gotta work right though.

That's a really good question, but basically the cushioning movement of the Gen-Y cushioned weight distribution shanks like the part # 325-GH-1202 for a 2 inch hitch or part # 325-GH-1302 for a 2-1/2 inch hitch moves straight up and down and since the weight distribution spring bar tension is more like a fulcrum and "twists" for lack of a better term they both end up function just fine together. That's the simple answer at least.
