Highest Capacity Trailer Hitch for a 1986 Chevy K30 Cab and Chassis Truck
Question:
I am looking for the best fitting heavy duty Class V hitch for a ex army truck. It was a cab/chassis truck When delivered to the army, Had a maintnence body on it and now has a 8ft bed on it. It is a 1986 Chevy K30 with a 6.2L Diesel. It also has a pintle hitch mounted where the rear plate would go with brackets from it to the inside of the frame. The military designation for this truck is a M-1028

For a cab and chassis style 1986 Chevy K30 the highest capacity hitch would be # 41947 that you have referenced from Draw-Tite. Because the truck now has an 8 foot bed on it and another hitch, I cannot guarantee that it will fit. You will need to take a look at the instructions I have linked to determine if the attachment points required are free.
If you can use the hitch I recommend the etrailer ball mount # EBMK2416. It comes with a ball mount, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag. For trailer wiring use # HM41115, instructions linked.
