How To Install a 7-Way On a 2019 Toyota Highlander With No Brake Controller
Question:
I know I need to install the 4 pin adapter first. But I only need the 7 pin adapter for lights, brake lights , turn signals not for a brake controller. What do you recommend?

In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on a 2019 Toyota Highlander you will first want to install a 4-way trailer connector as you mentioned, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 56042 that you were looking at is a plug-in-play fit. I have attached an install video for you. The Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole part # C57674 can then be used to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. That said, if you only need the tail, brake, and turn signal circuits you just wouldn't attach the black, blue or yellow wires. The white wire on the other hand would need to be grounded to a bare metal surface but it's a plug-in-play install.
Please note, you will also want the Curt No-Drill Bracket part # C57202 to complete your setup.
