How Deep Does The Hitch Ball Need To Be To Use the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Adapter
Question:
I have the demco recon for recessed gooseneck. I cant pin the coupler in the slot because it is not long enough. From where the base of my ball is to bed os 4.5 inches. What do i need to do?

In order for the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # DM8550046 to work, the distance from the top of the gooseneck hitch ball to the bed floor must be no more than 3/4". If the distance from the top of the gooseneck hitch ball to the bed floor is more than 3/4" then the coupler will not attach which seems to be the issue you are having. If there is a taller gooseneck hitch ball available for your gooseneck hitch (please confirm the model number of gooseneck hitch) that may then work but the only other option I see is to use a gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter instead of a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter.
The Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter part # AM3139 or part # AM3100 is what I recommend which will both work with recessed hitch ball openings.
