A sliding hitch is recommended with the 2009 Dodge Ram to tow the Keystone Sprinter to have enough cab clearance when making turns. As long as your pin box is not a turning pin box (doesn't rotate) you will need a sliding hitch with the short bed truck.

I do recommend an autoslide hitch Demco 18K Hijacker part # DM8550034 and the Demco Hijacker custom rails for the bed part # DM8552016-71. The Hijacker is one of the easiest to use sliding fifth wheel hitches on the market because you don't have to get out of your truck to adjust the slider when you make sharp turns which can become inconvenient especially in city traffic or bad weather. It also features a 360 degree contact with the king pin to prevent the rattling and chucking you may experience with other fifth wheel brands.

One feature that sets the Demco auto slide hitch apart from the competition is the capture plates are built into the Demco unlike other brands that sell them separately. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
