Do I Have to Use a Sliding Hitch if I Know my 5th Wheel Trailer Will Turn Without One?

Question:

I just factory ordered a 2020 GMC 3500HD. I used the Curt Q20 sliding hitch in my previous 2011 GMC and never used the sliding feature as my 5th wheel allows up to an 88 degree turn. The new and previous trucks both have the 6.5’ bed. If I order the non-slider, will it fit my 6.5’ bed? The 2020 GMC will have the factory “puck” system preinstalled. Thanks!

Yes, the factory puck system in the short bed and long beds on the 2020 GMC Sierra 3500 HD are the same, so you can use a non-sliding hitch that fits in the factory puck system like the # C24FR.

You're also going to find that the Curt A25 is a nice upgrade from the Q20 slider you've been using because of the A25's interlocking jaws. On top of the more secure jaw of the A series, it also uses a fully articulating torsion head compared to the spherical axial bearing on the Curt Q25.
