Comparing The Curt A25 And B&W Companion For A 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 With Factory Puck System
Question:
I am debating between the Curt A25 and the 25k B&W Companion for my 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 with an 8 foot bed and the puck system from the factory. Is one of these better than the other? I'm new to 5th wheel towing, but I have pulled trailers for quite some time, so I am more familiar with Curt hitches. I have heard a lot of people talking about B&W parts though, so I wanted your take on it. Thanks in advance.

Both the Curt A25 # C24FR and the B&W Companion # BWRVK3715 have a 25,000 pounds towing and 6,250 pounds of vertical load capacity, but there are a few differences between them and I have a couple listed below.
First, The B&W can be adjusted from 16-3/4" to 18-3/4" and the Curt can adjust from 13" to 17". This is pretty close though, but I do like that the B&W can go higher. The Curt has interlocking jaws, but the B&W has more standard style jaws (picture included of what I mean).
Between the two of these though, I do prefer the B&W Companion. Yes, it is a little more expensive and the Curt has the interlocking jaws, but the B&W is American made and they are built to last. If I was in the need of a 5th wheel hitch, it would be the one I would go with.
