How to Tow Gooseneck Trailer with Inverted 5th Wheel King Pin with 2019 Ford F-250 Factory Pucks

Question:

I have a 2019 F 250 with the factory puck system. All of my goosenecks are equipped with the inverted fifth wheel. How can I install a fifth wheel pin in my truck without having to destroy the puck system.

I do have some potential solutions for you, however there's not an adapter or system available that will allow you to pull a trailer with an inverted 5th wheel head behind your Ford F-250 that's equipped with the factory puck system.

You could potentially remove the factory puck system but this is going to require some pretty significant modifications. I might even check with a local Ford dealer to see how this can be done and to make sure it's not going to affect the integrity of the truck's frame.

If you can do this the best option we have available would be to install the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1116 and then add the King Pin Adapter # BWGNXA4000. This is a really versatile setup that will also allow you to pull standard gooseneck hitches (with the adapter removed) and standard 5th wheel trailers by adding the Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3500, which drops right into the Turnoverball gooseneck hole.

Your other option will be to leave the truck bed as-is and replace the inverted 5th wheel king pins with standard gooseneck couplers. This again is going to require some significant modifications but may be better in the long run so you won't have to do this again if you were to get another new truck or need to tow with a different vehicle from time to time.

I have attached a link below that will take you to our complete selection of gooseneck couplers that you can look through if needed.
