How to Install Demco Hijacker in Pullrite Underbed Rail System

Question:

It was my understanding that the under bed supports was what would be used with all. It has 4 pins that attach to the under bed rails. I was told that the rails that attach to those pins that are unique to my hitch. I will have to do more research. If what you are staying is true, I cannot mount any other hitch to my truck without additional holes. How to companies attach to RAM, Ford or Chevy trucks that have the 5th wheel prep from the factory? I will loose respect for PullRite if I find that I am stuck using only their products.

I do have a Demco Hijacker that can fit in place of your Pullrite 4100 hitch that was designed for the Pullrite underbed rails but you'll have to use their adapter 4409 to convert your rail kit to industry standard rails so that you can then use the Hijacker for above bed rails # DM8550034 instead and you'd be set.

We don't carry Pullrite so we can't get the adapter but the 4409 is what you'd need with the # DM8550034.

You're not totally stuck using a Pullrite hitch but you do have to use their adapter to allow you to fit a standard above-bed rail hitch in your truck bed. When not in use you can remove the hitch and adapter and you'd have a totally clean truck bed though as the adapter is not something that has to be permanently installed. What's interesting about the Ram, Ford, and Chevy rail kits is that they all use basically the same puck design but they are spaced all a bit differently so you have to use a hitch designed specifically for that rail kit. What's even more fun is the Chevy changed the puck layout dimensions from 2019 to 2020 so all new fits had to be designed. The Pullrite adapter and Hijacker solution I mentioned in last email would work well for you, but if that's not what you are looking for let me know what your ideal solution would be and I can see if there's a better setup.
