Connecting Brake Controller Wiring on 2019 Chevy Express Van 3500

Question:

2019 chevy express passenger van 3500 My new passenger van has the brake control wires under the carpet for the brake control. I cant find the trailer harness on the rear of the van . The harness is not tied near frame , there is not a red feed coiled up any where in the engine compartment. I dont understand why the brake control wires exist and the harness to the rear does not. Any ideas?

Thank you for all of the information and pictures! It looks like you should at least have some wiring already run on your 2019 Chevy Express Van 3500 so I'm just as confused as to why you don't have a round plug with a cap inside the driver's side frame rail or blunt cut wiring in the jack storage compartment. Aside from double checking and having someone else check as well (to get a pair of fresh eyes on your vehicle), the only other thing I can really offer is to just run your own wiring and ignore the trailer brake controller wiring under your dash.

If you choose to do this then you'll need a 4-Way like the Recommended T-One # 118392, the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7, and some extra wiring part # 10-2-1 since your Express Van has a longer body than most applications.

Models that come with the factory 7-Way should have a round plug somewhere along the driver's side frame rail. If you were able to locate this then you'd just need the connector # 30955.

Either way, this will allow you to install a brake controller like the popular Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR.
