For your 2017 Chevrolet Express Van we do have brake controller solutions but the vehicle does not have a port under the dash for installing a brake controller. Instead it has wiring available under the dash or sometimes the driver side floor mat up towards the floor mat. If you check out the install video I attached below you can see exactly how we installed a brake controller in a 2017 Chevy Express Van just like yours!
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well. This is the brake controller that is in the install video that I attached as well.

I am looking to put in a seven-prong plug, as well as a break controller on my 2019 Chevy Express 3500. I've looked over all of your videos, and the plug that is available at the back of my van is not a match for any of them, some site suggests that that plug is instead a plug for backup sensors, rather than to attach trailer wiring. however, I do have the wiring under the floor mat under the driver's side console for all of the trailer brakes, I just don't know where it comes out and how to attach it back to the hitch. Any directions would be great. I do have pictures if that would be helpful.
