V-Bar Tire Chains for a 2012 Ram 2500 with 285/70-17 Tires
Question:
I have a 2012 Ram 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.7L Cummins. Im looking for a good but affordable set of V bar chains with cams for the rear and the a set for the front that wont damage the brake hoses or anything, the truck has a front leveling kit and lots of clearance to the fenders. The tires r 285/70R17E 10 ply A/T tires.Probably gonna be new Cooper Discoverer At3 tires soon I only use them during severe weather if I have to drive for an emergency, and pulling cars from ditches, or self recovery of course. Id like V bars up front to but not sure if they will work in the front? Bad steering or handling problems?

The Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains part # TC3829CAM are a fit for a 2012 Ram 2500 with 285/70-17 tires and have the v-bar construction with cams you are looking for. In fact, these are the only tire chains that fit your tire size and have both the v-bar construction with cams. Please note, the owner's manual only states to use tire chains on the rear two tires due to limited clearance between the inside of tire and brake lines etc.
If you wanted to use tire chains on the front two tires I recommend going with a set that are designed for tighter clearances, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2327.
