Troubleshooting Hitch Hardware for 2015 Chevy Equinox that Seems too Big to Fit

On a 2015 chevy equinox the hex bolts on the side that are supposed to fit the welded bolts do not fit. I cleaned them but the m12 bolts are too big, is there and alternate size on this model?

The M12 size is correct for installing a hitch like the etrailer.com # e98865 on your 2015 Chevy Equinox. We had the chance to install this hitch on a 2015 model just like yours and the hardware was the correct size. See attached video link. There isn't an alternate frame or weld nut size your vehicle would have.

What you'll want to do is locate an M12 thread tap to clean out your threads as this is a very common issue and will take care of the problem.
