How to Tow 2019 Kia Sorento on Roadmaster Tow Dolly
Question:
Does it matter if it is in park, drive or neutral

According to the online version of your Owner's Manual, your 2019 Kia Sorento FWD can be flat towed with a tow dolly like # RM-2050-1 with the front wheels on the dolly and the rear wheels on the ground.
The ignition switch must be in the ACC position, the transmission shift lever in N (Neutral) and the parking brake released.
Keep in mind if your Sorento is AWD, it cannot be towed and will require a flatbed trailer for all 4 wheels to be off the ground.
An electric brake controller, like the extremely simple and easy to use Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 is the only other thing you'll need. The brake controller plugs into your tow vehicle's 7-way and sends the signal to activate your dolly's brakes in proportion to your tow vehicle's brakes.
For a tow dolly that uses hydraulic brakes instead, check out the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly # DM9713093. Because the brakes don't require an electrical signal, an electric brake controller is not needed.
