Will an Older Reese Kwik Slide 5th Wheel Hitch Fit in Universal Reese 5th Wheel Rails in 2002 F-150  

Question:

I have a Reese Kwik Slideit has 3 nos. on it-30031,30037 and 30726. It is dated 06/24/98. Max Gross wgt. 14,000 lbs., vert load rating 3500 lbs..I have a 2002 Ford F150. Will this rail kit work on this hitch? Thanks

Yes, the 1998 model Reese Kwik Slide fifth-wheel hitch will work in standard fifth-wheel rails, and the Universal Installation Kit, # RP30035, will work for you. Your hitch is basically just an older version of the Reese Slider Hitch, # RP30051, with a slightly lower capacity rating and possibly wider legs that will install in the outer most slots in the fifth-wheel rails.

For your 2002 Ford F-150 with 6-1/2 foot bed, I would recommend using the Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP50042-58, to reduce the amount of drilling you need to do and make the installation much easier, see instructions link. We have a video of this kit being installed on a Ford truck that should be helpful, see link.
