For your 2018 Ram 3500 short bed with the factory prep package to use with a Sidewinder pin box on the trailer I highly recommend the Curt A25 5th Wheel Hitch # C16046, paired with the Custom Wedge # C16992.
This is an excellent hitch that features an interlocking 2-jaw system to provide 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. What this actually does, other than creating an extremely secure connection to the trailer, is greatly reduce the rattle and movement at the hookup point that you see with a lot of other models. It simply works to provide you with a quiet and smooth ride while you're towing.
Along with the superior jaw, the A25 also features a fully articulating head that suppresses road shock for an even smoother ride but also helps with hookup since you don't have to be exactly on line when backing up the truck. Its fast 1-pin head removal allows you to easily take the hitch out of the bed when you aren't towing for full bed access. This particular model is designed to drop right into those factory pucks on your Ram and it has a robust 24,000 pound towing weight capacity..
With the custom wedge mentioned above it is perfectly compatible with pivoting pin boxes like the Sidewinder or Revolution.
I have attached a short video review below along with a customer submitted photo of the hitch mounted in his truck, just so you can see exactly what this will look like on your Ram.
