Does a triaxle trailer have the ability to stop quicker than a random axle trailer of the same weight?

Yes a triple axle with brakes on all axles would have the ability to stop quicker as there would be 33% more tire contact which would give the trailer more traction to slow down quicker. Do we always recommend adding axles for this reason though? Not really, as typically tandem axle trailers with appropriate sized tires stop quickly enough.

The downside to triple axle trailers is that the tires end up scrubbing pretty hard around tight corners and when it's time for new tires you have 2 more to buy.
