Swinging Enclosed Cargo Carrier and Exhaust Heat

Question:

Ive seen other similar carriers and they all mention that I should not use with a rear exhaust system, because of excessive heat so close to the carrier. Is that the case with yours, I did not see anything mentioned? Thanks

Expert Reply:

If your vehicle has the exhaust coming straight out the back, then it
could melt the carrier due to the heat created by the engine
and exited through your exhaust. The only solution in these situations
is to redirect the exhaust down or out to the side of the vehicle. We
have many different styles of exhaust tips that may work for your application.
I have posted links to our complete exhaust tip selection. The direction
of the exhaust discharge is always an important consideration when selecting
a cargo carrier.
