Trailer Hitch Needed To Tow a Bass Boat With a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado
Question:
2018 Colorado has a tow capacity of 5000 lbs. and this device has a capacity of 3500 lbs. Any issue towing my bass boat that is well under that weight?

I think you meant to say that your 2018 Chevrolet Colorado has a towing capacity of 3,500 and are wanting to make sure a trailer hitch rated for 5,000 lbs could be used. If that is the case then yes but you will always need to abide by the weakest rated component which is your vehicle. Therefore, you can tow your bass boat trailer no matter what trailer hitch you are using assuming the trailer is under 3,500 lbs which is what you said your vehicle's towing capacity was.
Please note, the Curt 2" Trailer Hitch part # E-3S is not going to work on a Chevrolet Colorado as there would be nowhere for it to attach it. Instead, you will need a frame mounted trailer hitch and for that we have the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76004 which is currently our most cost effective option.
