When installing the Custom Underbed Installation Kit # BWGNRK1020-5W for the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3400-5W on your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 the truck bed does not need to come off. In the installation manual it just states that the installer needs to be positioned under the truck bed in the area of the rear axle. Lifting the truck will make this process easier.
To prepare the truck for installation the spare tire and shield, along with the heat shield above the rear axle will need to be removed.
I have attached an image from the installation instructions that details the truck prep process that you can look through as well.
