What Is the Towing Capacity of a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium
Question:
On your site you state that the towing capacity for a Ford Edge Titanium is 2000 lbs, but on the Ford site it states that it is 3500 lbs. What is the towing capacity and is 20 feet too long for the Ford Edge Titanium to haul?

Expert Reply:
The towing capacity of a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with the 2.0L EcoBoost Engine is 3,500 lbs per the 2018 Ford Trailer Towing Guide. There are other models with a 2,000 lb towing capacity which have the 2.7L EcoBoost Engine. The length of the trailer is not relevant because it just needs to weigh less than your above towing capacity. In order to tow a trailer with your Ford Edge you will need the following parts:
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13234
Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56292
7-Way RV Upgrade Kit part # ETBC7L
Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180
Curt Towing Starter Kit part # C45534
If the trailer is over 1,500 lbs then it will need to have brakes according to the owner's manual. The Curt Echo is one of the only options that will not require you to splice into any wires on your vehicle so this is a very strong recommendation if your trailer is over 1,500 lbs.
