Which is Better Fastway or Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution for Tongue Weight of 800-900 lb
Question:
Does the Fastway e2 provide a 4 point control sway control like the Equal-i-zer Hitch states? I have a 2019 F250 4x4 Super Crew short bed towing a 2018 Grand Design 2600RB with about 800-900 lbs tongue weight. Using the Fastway e2 1,000/10,000 lbs. Would it be in my best interest to move to the Equal-i-zer for the four point sway control? My brother in law has a 2018 GMC Denlai and has the same trailer, but Dealership gave him the 1,200/12,000 lbs hitch uh??. Do I need to up grade or is he over board with hitch. Our trailers have GVWR of 7850 lbs. Thank for your time,

Fastway weight distribution systems have 2 point sway control whereas the Equal-i-zer systems have 4 points. Two points are in the head of the system where the spring bars attach to the head of the system and the other two are where the bars attach to the spring bar hangers. Basically these are the 4 points that pivot or move when the trailer is turned so the Equal-i-zer systems have enough friction in these points helps reduce sway.
Fastway and Equal-i-zer are both made by the same company with the Equal-i-zer brand being the premiere brand. Since you asked which brand would be in your best interests the answer to that is the Equal-i-zer. Many refer to this brand as being the best weight distribution you can get so if you are looking for the best this would be it. If your current Fastway system is working well though and you aren't having a hard time with sway that starts from passing semis or high winds you might just stick with what you have. But if you like having the best of the best on your towing setup then the Equal-i-zer really is the way to go.
So considering what you have already and the tongue weight of your trailer being 800-900 lbs the best solution for you is the part # EQ37101ET which has the tongue weight range of 600 to 1,000 lbs and does not include a shank as you already have one that is compatible.
Only other thing you may need is a thin walled socket part # ALL643216 to install the included hitch ball.
