Should Chains on Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System Hang Straight Down to Spring Bars
Question:
In your photo it seems the chains arent directly underneath the snap up brackets. Seems the mounting bracket for the sway control prevents the chains from hanging perpendicular to the frame. Is this going to be a potential problem?

The trailer frame mounted brackets for the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System # C17422 should be positioned on the trailer so that the chain hangs directly down to the spring bar. The picture you mentioned is simply the studio photo we took after assembling the system so it's not adjusted exactly how it should be when actually putting it on a trailer for use. The brackets itself will not prevent proper orientation of the chain.
I have attached the complete written installation instructions that you can check out as well.
