Can Curt Short Arm Weight Distribution be Used on Trailer With 28 Inch Tongue
Question:
Can I use the curt 17422 on my enclosed trailer with maximum of 28” of tongue length? The body of the trailer does not have clearance to be able to move the brackets any further than 24” from center of ball.

Appreciate the photo, and yes you can, but you'll need to use bolt-on chain hangers if there is interference that won't allow the brackets to mount to the top of the tongue 28" back. So you'd need to bolt on the chain hangers to the side of the frame (or the side of the trailer frame just behind the tongue if that is where you are measuring 28 inches) in order to use the system. Here is what you'd need:
- Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System with Sway Control - Trunnion Bar - 15K GTW, 1.5K TW # C17422
- Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On # C17005
