Using TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension on 2017 Ram 3500

Question:

I have a 2017 Ram 3500 6.5foot bed that Im currently using the Titan extension at 34". I understand the the max tongue weight is 450 pounds. If I upgrade to the SuperHitch Original along with the 42inch SuperTruss am I correct that I only increase my max tongue weight to 600 pounds? The SuperHitch seems to have a rating of 1,700 pounds of tongue weight but the 42inch SuperTruss is only rated at 600 pounds? Doesnt seem right. In the end Im trying to increase my tongue weight maximum capacity. Plus the SuperTruss seems to be a much more stable setup.

You are correct that the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension # TLE1542 features a tongue weight capacity of 600 pounds, increasing the current tongue weight limit you have when using the Reese Titan # RP45292 by just 150 pounds. When using longer extensions like this, even those like the SuperTruss which I absolutely agree offers a more stable setup, tongue weight limits will be a bit lower just because of the amount of leverage that they create.

If you decide that it's worth it for the added 150 pounds of capacity and the more stable connection then you will need to add the TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch # TLD1108, which will install beneath the factory hitch on your Ram to provide the needed two receivers.

I have attached a couple installation videos that you can check out as well.
