Easy to Install Trailer Brake Controller for 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with 4-Pole Wiring
Question:
I need to change out the factory 4 pole to a seven pin and add a brake controller so my dad can pull a pop up camper with electric brakes. Do you offer a plug and play? What do I need to buy?

Yes, we can help you with the items needed to upgrade the 4-pole wiring on the 2008 Wrangler Unlimited to a 7-way and to install a trailer brake controller. The Jeep does not have an under-dash port to connect a controller but we do have an option that will be very easy to install.
For the easiest possible installation I recommend the Curt Echo # C51180 and 7-way upgrade/install kit # ETBC7L. If your Dad has a compatible smartphone then these two items are all that is needed to add the 7-way and install the Echo. The Echo actually just plugs into the 7-way with no boxes or wiring inside the Unlimited that could get in Dad's way. The trailer plugs into the Echo and the phone is then paired to it to complete the installation. There is nothing easier. Please check out the linked install video.
If you prefer a lower-cost controller and/or don't mind having to mount the controller inside the passenger compartment then a reliable unit and installation kit to use are the Primus IQ # TK90160 and the similar install kit # ETBC7.
