How To Set The Width Of the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons

Question:

I have a 19 foot scarab 195, I installed 40 inch trailer guides will these work? I installed the foam padding on the pvc pipes. It looks like the are further out than they should be but the boat is wider in the middle. Will I scratch anything or will this work.

According to the instructions for the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons part # CE27620, the upright posts will need to be positioned less than 1" from the boat's widest point. Since your boat is wider in the middle than at the end, the posts will stick out further when aligned with the rear of the boat.

In regards to visibility, it's really hard to say whether or not the 40" tall posts that you purchased will be visible because it all depends on how far you need to back the trailer up into the water in order to launch your boat. If the 40" tall posts are not visible then you can use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons part # CE27640 which are 60" tall.
