Recommended Parts For Towing a Trailer With Brakes Using a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country

Question:

I plan on towing my pull behind trailer with my 2016 town and country and need help determining which wiring harness, brake controller, 7 pin rv hookup and weight distribution hitch would work best. The trailer is 3100lbs with a tounge wt of 400lbs. Is a 4 point or 2 point sway control the better option. Thanks for any help.

I have attached for you below the parts that I recommend you use to tow your trailer behind your 2016 Chrysler Town and Country.

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75579
Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56331
7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L
Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180
Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System part # C17499
2" Hitch Ball part # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball part # A-6

The Draw-Tite trailer hitch is a custom fit so no drilling is required and it offers a clean look once installed (see photo). The T-One harness is a plug and play kit so you don't have to do any wire splicing and it is the most reliable option we offer for you. The 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit when paired with the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller will prove to be the least invasive in regards to modifying the vehicle because you don't have to run any wires into the cab. In regards to the 2-point sway control versus 4-point sway control, there are two additional points of friction with the 4-point system so it will be twice as effective at managing trailer sway which is why I recommend the Curt TruTrack.

I have attached several install videos for you as well. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me directly anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you in your future towing endeavors.
