Mounting Two Trailer Stop, Turn and Marker Lights on Each Side of a Trailer
Question:
When you are using two stop/turn/marker, lights on each side of trailer. 4 lites total. How would this be wired? Should you wire outside lites turn/ marker and inside lites stop /turn/marker or keep each side the same?

If you are using two stop/turn/marker lights on each side of the trailer, the only signal you will be able to separate out is the taillight signal. Trailers in the United States use a combined stop and turn signal so you would not be able to separate them to wire one light turn and marker and the other light brake and marker or brake turn and marker.
You would essentially have two options. One light on each side stop/turn/tail and the other taillight only, or one light stop/turn only and the other taillight only.
When wiring you will want a taillight to be on the farthest out part of the rear of the trailer to provide a visual clearance light at night for people passing. The stop/turn signal could be inset somewhat, but you will need to check with your state and local DOT to be sure that your lighting is legal.
I attached an article that has a typical trailer wiring diagram for you to review.
