Troubleshooting Wiring Harness on 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited Sahara and I have tried two CURT 56407 units and have the exact same problem: right rear turn light out message on the dash. It doesn’t happen right away, but after a couple days of driving. I didn’t use the dielectric goo that your video recommends. The vehicle is brand new, less an 2200 miles.

The Dielectric Goo # 11755 is definitely a good idea because it will help prevent your wiring harness from corroding, but if you don't use it that doesn't mean the Curt Wiring Harness # C56407 on your 2018 Jeep JL Wrangler Unlimited should fail. These harnesses do connect to your Jeep's tail lights so one of two things are the likely issue. First, the connections aren't being fully seated into the tail light harness so you will want to double-check that connection. The other potential issue is a poor ground; make sure you are grounding the harness to a bare metal surface that is clean, dirt-free and unpainted.
